Movie Maker has given me a very real appreciation for what we use every day without a second thought - teaching videos. I see using the program in a first grade classroom to show a whole group class activity ( Dr. Seuss' Birthday, Holidays Around the World, class project presentations, individual creations). While the teacher would probably be the primary creator of the movie, students can learn how to follow multiple step directions, sequence slides/events, and offer opinions on how to individualize slides for each student. By helping to assemble a hands on story board, they are able to physically manipulate the pictures before moving to the computer. When children see themselves, it evokes a feeling of pride or "I'm Special". Patty Kay
